Uber wants to be your new party planner: The ride-hail and food delivery service is entering events and entertainment with its new Explore tab.
Whether showing friends around town or enjoying date night, chances are Uber users open the app at least once. When you do, Uber Explore will be on hand to make suggestions for food and drink, arts & culture, nightlife, music & shows, and other “experiences.”
Users can easily browse and book live events, dinner reservations and “other fun activities” while checking reviews, photos and directions. There are also offers, which get you 15% off your rides for up to $10 for now.
The experience includes one-click rides to your chosen destination, tips based on past use of Uber and Uber Eats, fluctuating deals, and Uber Wallet and payment options. “We use your favorite places and things to eat to suggest the best places to visit in your city,” Uber explained.
Explore the first 14 US cities (Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Memphis, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New Orleans, New Jersey, Upstate New York, Orlando, San Antonio, San Francisco, Seattle) and one international location (Mexico City) ). Keep an eye out for more regions, events and experiences to be added.
Uber has previously expanded its repertoire, adding on-demand flower delivery and Christmas tree drop off, as well as the ability for drivers to adjust reservations based on passenger flight information.
