Activision has announced that Infinity Ward is developing the next installment of the Call of Duty franchise, which is set to arrive later this year as a sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019.
The company says that the next Call of Duty will also feature a significant update for Warzone, the battle royale mode that was released alongside Modern Warfare 2019 and several updates after Call of Duty: Vanguard releases in late 2021. have been received.
“Expect massive development of Battle Royale with an all-new playspace and a new sandbox mode,” says Activision. A new engine powers both the new Call of Duty game releases and Warzone. (Which is welcome news for those who have played Warzone since its debut.)
Until the next Call of Duty arrives, Activision says it has several plans for the current version of Vanguard and Warzone. The company says that “more than 30 improvements,” including “improvements in all forms of movement,” will come with Season Two of Vanguard.
But those improvements pale in comparison to Activision’s plan to bring a zone of slider to Warzone players on consoles, which it says is one of the Call of Duty community’s top requests for the game, even though it had been in the past. Performance issues will be introduced for – General Console.
“Season two will be the next major step in continually improving your in-game experience,” says Activision, “and we greatly value feedback from our community.” The company plans to share more details about the next Call of Duty in the coming months.
